Welcome to Denver, Colorado!
We at Great Events/TEAMS, Inc. are very proud of our Mile High City and Centennial State and made it our job to show you the best in the most creative, attractive way. Come with us and experience the magnificent beauty and glory of Denver and Colorado!
Why Colorado
Our beautiful state contains the most extensive system of alpine
wilderness in the United States with the exception of Alaska.
Half of Colorado is public land open to all forms of recreation
with 2 national parks, 6 national monuments, 11 national forests,
3 national recreation areas and 30 state parks.
The mountainous area of Colorado is six times the size of
Switzerland and contains 9,600 miles (15,449 km) of fishing
streams, 2,850 lakes and over 1,000 peaks two miles (3,218 km)
high. Colorado offers everything from the unhurried pace of
ranch life to the bustle of urban life. Historic sites, such
as the 1,000 year-old cave dwellings at Mesa Verde and the
restored mining town of Georgetown, offer glimpses into
Colorado's past. Contrast these with the upscale skiing
communities of Aspen and Vail and the street scene along Boulders
Pearl Street Mall and Denver's 16th Street Mall.
Why Denver
Within a mile radius, downtown Denver has 3 major sport stadiums,
one of the nation's largest performing arts centers, 3 college
campuses, an assortment of art museums, a mint producing 10 billion
coins a year, a river offering white water rafting, over 5,000 hotel
rooms, a $140 million amusement park, an aquarium with sharks and
sea otters and well over 150 restaurants, brewpubs, discos and
nightspots all with more than 300 days of sunshine a year!
Did you know that...
Weather
In Denver dressing in layers is recommended because the weather can
and will surprise you. It can be 80 degrees in November and we
can have hit-and-run snow flurry in June! Each of the seasons is
played out perfectly in Denver, but Denver's weather is basically
mild, dry and arid with an average of 300 days of sun per year. Come
to Denver prepared for everything weather-wise and do not forget
about the dryness; your skin will need a lot of extra moisture!
Altitude
Denver's altitude is 5,280 ft - the Mile High City - and those not
accustomed to it will certainly notice it. Water boils faster and
a golf ball travels 10% farther, as do baseballs and footballs.
This makes Coors Field "Home Run Alley" and Mile High
Stadium the site of the longest field goal in NFL history - 63 yards.
